Very old Pennsylvania painted box. May have been used for various purposes in the home or wagon. Intriguing decoration. Many areas of loss but a very unique piece of Americana. Very old and interesting lock mechanism. Probably 18th century. No maker's mark. Measures 16 1/2 X 12 X 9 inches.
Pair of hammered brass sconces with "Day" and "Night" motif. "Day" with sun in sky, walking man in top hat and cane, eating sweets and a bottle sticking out of his pocket. "Night" with watchman carrying a halberd and lantern under a crescent moon. Possibly early American. 18th-19th century.
